Thousands flocked for Lincoln 10k
JANE TOMLINSON’S RUN FOR ALL
THOUSANDS of runners flocked to the city on Sunday, April 14 to take part in the annual 10k event.
It saw a mixture of seasoned athletes chasing new PBs, charity runners fundraising for important causes and those just wanting to get active.
The City of Lincoln 10k saw thousands make their way around the city streets from Riseholme Road to Lincoln Cathedral. People of all abilities were able to take part, with some experienced athletes taking part as well as runners in fancy dress to raise awareness of specific causes.
The first race was held in 1997 and has become a popular event in the city every year since. Runners could pick up a T-shirt, drink, medal and goody bag at the end of the event from helpful volunteers where they could then relax in the grounds of Lincoln Castle.
The event is organised by Jane
Tomlinson’s Run For All, in memory of late athlete, mum-of-three and fundraiser Jane Tomlinson CBE who had incurable cancer. The City of Lincoln 10k 2025 event has already been confirmed for April 6 next year with the same route.
