Pair use talents to benefit

Lynda Nicol Following on from the popularity of three calendars they produced last year, an East Kilbride woman and her friend have done it all again this year.

This ti me round t he talented pair – Jan Robertson from Calderwood, who is a former freelance illustrato­r with DC Thomson, and J i m C a r r o l l , a n a ma t e u r photograph­er from Burnside – have concentrat­ed on just one calendar containing views of Rutherglen. They hav e e nt i t l e d i t E x Fu mo Fama: Out of smoke comes fame.

They have also produced Rutherglen t ea t owels and cotton shopping bags, which are all selling very well.

Last year their sales of calendars depicting Glasgow churches and pubs rai s ed £2500 for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice as a way of saying thank you to the hospice who looked after Ji m’s brother i n t he weeks before his death.

This year 50p from ever y calendar sold will go to another charity close to their hearts, the Salvation Army.
