MP pays tribute to Royal Mail staff
MP Michael McCann visited East Kilbride’s Royal Mail team bright and early to thank all the staff for their hard work in the lead-up to Christmas.
While across the United Kingdom the number of letters Royal Mail delivers is falling, the increase in internet sales means that parcel deliveries are growing every year.
Last week in one day Royal Mail in East Kilbride delivered 100,000 parcels.
Michael said:“I know a lot of people who work for the Royal Mail in East Kilbride and I know how hard they work.
“This year the number of parcel deliveries has grown once again but staff continue to deliver our parcels on time.
“Whatever the challenge they meet it without a grumble.
“On behalf of the whole community I’d like to thank all the staff at Royal Mail East Kilbride for their sterling work.”
