30 YEARS AGO

The tail end of 1984 was a time of great celebration at Bairdwear (Kilbride) Limited in Kelvin Industrial Estate when they produced their one millionth shirt of the year.

A collection by the Civic Centre and News of half-pennies before they ceased to be legal tender, raised £9000 for Cancer Research.

There was confirmation of at least 10 years’further development for new towns.
