Claremont Ramblers on the up and up
Inversnaid provided new walking territory for Claremont Ramblers at the weekend.
The weather was wet with drizzle and constant cloud cover which meant that the walkers did not enjoy the full benefit of the panoramic views which were surrounding them.
The long walkers covered a very strenuous 11 miles ... a steady climb for five miles, with a steep descent joining the West Highland Way to Inversnaid.
The last part was over rough terrain requiring careful consideration of where the feet were going.
The middle walkers covered eight miles with their stint being Kinlochard to Aberfoyle. All walkers enjoyed their chosen walks.
The morning coffee stop was at the Woollen Mill in Aberfoyle and the social hour was taken in the Forth Inn, in Aberfoyle.
The club’s next walk is on Sunday, October 2, with the target being Bankfoot to Dunkeld.
The club is holding its AGM on Tuesday, September 27, in Claremont Church Hall at 7.30pm. Membership dues are now payable and monies will be taken after the AGM.
Individuals wishing to join either walks or club nights can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.
