East Kilbride residents have been encouraged to nominate outstanding members of NHS staff for their hard work.

NHS Lanarkshire’s annual staff awards have been launched with the nomination period running until December 31.

The awards, now in their second year, see healthcare staff from across Lanarkshire recognised for the hard work they do.

Patients, visitors and colleagues can nominate staff and volunteers from across the health board to pay tribute to the care they provide.

The award categories are outstanding individual, outstanding team, outstanding care, outstanding volunteer, innovation in practice and service improvement.

NHS Lanarkshire chief executive Calum Campbell said:“There are so many unsung heroes among our hard-working and dedicated staff and volunteers, and the awards give everyone in Lanarkshire a chance to recognise that through their nominations.

“Our inaugural awards ceremony, held in May this year, was a great success. I’m sure we will see the same level of enthusiasm from the public and our colleagues as we again highlight the exceptional standard of care staff provide on a daily basis.”

There is a dedicated staff awards nomination page at nhslanarkshire.org.uk and nominations can also be made by calling 01698 377790.
