Homes will go ahead
Lindsayfield plan
The green light was given yesterday for 36 new homes in Lindsayfield.
Detailed planning permission was granted after an application was lodged by Miller Homes and went before South Lanarkshire Council’s planning committee.
The new homes will be built on an area of land between Lindsayfield Road and Wakefield Avenue.
The site falls under the original master plan for the southern development area phase two and extends to approximately 1.13 hectares.
Access to the new development is from Lindsayfield Road. The development will be made up of, six semi-detached and 30 terraced units, a new access road, informal open spaces and footpath links.
A report to councillors stated: “Outline planning consent was granted in June 2007 for a master plan development of approximately 460 residential dwellings.
“Since that time, the master plan area has been developed through a number of detailed planning consents by a number of major house builders.
“This site is the last of the sites to be developed in the master plan area. Originally, this site was set aside for the development of affordable housing.
“However, following recent discussions with the developer, housing services have instead opted for a financial contribution towards affordable housing provision in the wider area thereby allowing the site to be developed for mainstream housing.”
There were no objections to the proposals.
