Northern delights

- Edith Findlay

Those hardy members who had eventually dried out from the previous fortnight’s very wet walk joined many others when Claremont Rambling Club set out for Lochearnhead for the rescheduled March outing.

The long walk started from the Mhor 84 Hotel, Kingshouse to St. Fillans, covering 10.2 miles.

The alternative walk started from the top of Glen Ogle, heading back down towards the Mhor 84 Hotel on cycle track 7. This was a leisurely seven miles which was fully appreciated by those taking part in both excursions, for different reasons, thoroughly enjoying the pace and the scenery.

As for the weather, it was dry and slightly warm and much appreciated by those taking part.

The morning coffee stop was at Dobbies in Stirling and the social hour in various spots in Callander.

The next walk will be this Sunday with the route being Aberfeldy to Kenmore.

Next club night will be on Tuesday, March 28.

Making a return visit will be the very welcome Craig Mains and his subject will be The Tall Ships “The Glenlee”.

This will be held in the usual venue of Claremont Church at 7.30 pm.

Individuals wishing to join in either the walks or club nights can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome.
