16 COMPETITIO­N Spreading some summer sunshine

Fun for all the family in EK

The excitement will be building, and not much work will be getting done, as the children start the countdown to their longest holiday of the year – summer!

But their joy might be more despair for parents, grandparen­ts and guardians tasked with keeping the little cherubs amused throughout July and August.

Fear not, because EK, East Kilbride has taken on the task of event-planner extraordin­aire, creating a fun-filled, jam-packed calendar of activities to keep them amused.

Running from July 3 until July 30, there is a mix of everything that kids of all ages will love, including: arts and crafts, face painting, hair braiding and glitter tattoos.

Plus there will be special guests popping in to say hello!

Each week will take on a different theme, ensuring kids can enjoy a fresh, fun-filled programme throughout the holidays.

•Week commencing July 3: Fantasy fun with fairies and trolls!

•Week commencing July 10: Nature week including fairy gardens, stone painting and vegetable printing.

•Week commencing July 17: Around The World & Under The Sea.

•Week commencing July 24: Animals week.

The free events take place between 11am and 4pm in the Plaza each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and in The Hub on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Please note activities will take place in The Hub on Saturday, July 24 and for a full timetable visit EKlife.co.uk
