A man has denied having a knife with him in an East Kilbride street.

Peter McGuire pleaded not guilty to being in possession of the blade in Troon Avenue, Greenhills, and at Coatbridge police office on June 2.

The 34-year-old will return to Hamilton Sheriff Court on December 28 for a further hearing relating to the case.

McGuire, of Bankhead Place, Coatbridge, is set to stand trial on January 23, 2018.
