EK82 Handball Club’s unbeaten run came to a halt last week after some mixed results, but they remain three points clear at the top of the league.

Nearest rivals Glasgow ended EK’s streak with a 36-34 victory, however Michael Lavery’s men bounced back to beat Tryst 77, from Cumbernauld, in a 30-20 triumph.

It’s all to play for at the league summit as Glasgow trail EK by three points, but they still have two games in hand over their rivals.

East Kilbride led for most of the game against Glasgow after a blistering start gave them a three goal lead at half time (18-15).

However, the visitors finished the game the stronger side after EK had three players sent to the sin bin in a frantic second half.

A few days later, a more disciplined EK team kept their hopes alive in the title race with an impressive win againstTryst.

EK were never behind and although Tryst rallied to level the game just after half time, EK took the spoils.

They now go forward to the Scottish Cup Final this weekend with some restored confidence – and they will be out for revenge when they play Glasgow again, looking to make amends for the league defeat.

The cup final is being held at the Oriam National Sports Centre, situated on the Heriot Watt University campus in Edinburgh.

EK will be on court at 6.15pm on Saturday and admission is free.
