Ladies sides hit summit
Both ladies sides from East Kilbride Hockey Club are sitting top of their respective divisions after a successful Saturday.
The first XI faced Argyle Ladies and had a cracking start at Duncanrig when Alison Alexander fed the ball through to Julianna Murciano to tap home from close range within the first few minutes.
Alexander popped in the second goal midway through the half when a slip from the top D at a short corner fell to her and she rifled home.
In the second half Sonya Andrews had a good strike saved on the line and the Argyle keeper made some vital stops with her feet to keep EK from scoring any more.
Fiona Williamson was player of the match with Caroline Deighan named opposition player of the match in a game in which EK always looked comfortable, if not exactly deadly.
The second XI played straight after, racking up a cracking 4-0 win against Hillhead 4s.
Kara Coleman, later named player of the match, kicked things off with a goal
on the 14-minute mark before Shona
Kinloch scored a beauty 10 minutes later. Paula Richmond made it three before half time for clinical EK.
Just when it looked like finishing 3-0, EK won a short corner and Kinloch slipped the ball in after it hit the post.
