Hospital car park frustration
I’m angered again by the misuse of Hairmyres Hospital car park.
This is not the first time that I have arrived for a hospital appointment to find all the parking spaces taken, mostly filled by commuters.
Having searched for a space for over 10 minutes, I was forced to leave and park at the Lidl car park across the main road in St James Retail Park and run back to the hospital to avoid being late for my appointment.
As I am young and fit I was able to cope with this inconvenient solution.
However, it angers me to think that patients who may have a serious illness or may be elderly would have to go through the same process.
Something needs to be done to stop this from happening and ensure that only patients are using the car park for its proper purpose.
Perhaps barriers could be put in place or some form of controlled parking. Stephanie Thomson, via email
