Poppy sales are going well

East Kilbride News - - NEWS -

People in East Kilbride have been doing their bit to support Poppy Scotland this year – as the country prepares to commemorate 100 years since the end of hostilities in the First World War.

East Kilbride Rotary Club has been busy recruiting volunteers to help collect for the charity at Morrisons and Sainsburys supermarkets in the town.

Poppy co-ordinator Roddy Shanks said: “The support of the shoppers has been fantastic and many thousands of poppies have been handed out with donations mounting up.

“If you are visiting any of these stores over the next few days, make sure to say hello and get your poppy.

“I am so grateful to all the volunteers for giving their time and also the stores management and staff for there help.”

The volunteers will be collecting until Saturday.
