Lat­est hos­pi­tal wait­ing times

Wait­ing times at East Kil­bride’s A&E unit showed a slight im­prove­ment – but re­mained be­low the av­er­age for NHS La­nark­shire.

Lat­est fig­ures for the week end­ing Sun­day, Novem­ber 11, show 87.9 per cent of pa­tients were ad­mit­ted, trans­ferred or dis­charged within four hours at Univer­sity Hos­pi­tal Hairmyres.

This is an im­prove­ment on the pre­vi­ous week when 84.4 per cent of pa­tients were seen dur­ing that time pe­riod.

How­ever, the fig­ure was be­low the health board av­er­age of 89.9 per cent and the NHS Scot­land av­er­age of 89.1per cent.

The Scot­tish Govern­ment tar­get is 95 per cent.

At Univer­sity Hos­pi­tal Mon­k­lands in Air­drie, 94.4 per cent of pa­tients were seen within four hours but Hairmyres’ fig­ure was above Univer­sity Hos­pi­tal Wishaw, which posted 87.4 per cent.

Mean­while, the lat­est statis­tics showed that 22 pa­tients waited over eight hours at Hairmyres A&E with a to­tal of six wait­ing more than 12. This com­pares to 39 and 20, re­spec­tively, the pre­vi­ous week.
