Tribute service forloved ones

East Kilbride News - - NEWS - Niki Tennant

People from South Lanarkshire who have lost a loved one can remember them at a special service.

The annual Christmas memorial service at South Lanarkshire Crematorium will take place on Sunday between 2pm and 4pm.

The service – which has been part of the tradition of the crematorium since 2007 – has been designed to mark the memories that are special to this time of year; whether by lighting a candle, adding a personal message to a memorial tag to be hung on the Christmas tree or simply reflecting quietly.

All those who are bereaved are welcome to join in the ecumenical service, not only those who have held services at the crematorium.

East Kilbride Central South councillor John Anderson is chairman of the community and enterprise resources committee.

He said: “Our service is a special way to remember loved ones at a time of year when our losses are often felt most keenly.

“And we extend a warm invitation to everyone who feels they could benefit from the event to come along.”
