Ram­blers share New La­nark route

Clare­mont Ram­bling Club hit the trail for an ex­cur­sion from Cross­ford to New La­nark.

Dif­fer­ent from their usual pro­ce­dure, ev­ery­one com­pleted the same walk.

The first half of the route was fairly flat but the sec­ond half was more chal­leng­ing for some, end­ing with a climb up to the car park at New La­nark.

Ev­ery­one kept to­gether and the sev­en­mile walk was com­pleted by ev­ery­one.

The morn­ing cof­fee stop was in Dob­bies, Sandy­holm, and the so­cial hour was en­joyed in the Inn on the Loch, La­nark.

The next walk is the club’s last out­ing of the year and takes place on Sun­day, with the route be­ing Strathyre to Cal­lan­der.

Book­ings are taken Tues­day to Fri­day prior to the walk, with mem­beronly book­ings ac­cepted on Tues­day and Wed­nes­day prior to the walk and the Thurs­day and Fri­day al­lo­cated to mem­bers and vis­i­tors.

Book­ings must be made no later than 4pm on the Fri­day.
