Ramblers share New Lanark route

- Edith Findlay

Claremont Rambling Club hit the trail for an excursion from Crossford to New Lanark.

Different from their usual procedure, everyone completed the same walk.

The first half of the route was fairly flat but the second half was more challenging for some, ending with a climb up to the car park at New Lanark.

Everyone kept together and the sevenmile walk was completed by everyone.

The morning coffee stop was in Dobbies, Sandyholm, and the social hour was enjoyed in the Inn on the Loch, Lanark.

The next walk is the club’s last outing of the year and takes place on Sunday, with the route being Strathyre to Callander.

Bookings are taken Tuesday to Friday prior to the walk, with memberonly bookings accepted on Tuesday and Wednesday prior to the walk and the Thursday and Friday allocated to members and visitors.

Bookings must be made no later than 4pm on the Friday.
