Spotlight on community trust

-

Monique McAdams, chief executive of EK Community Trust, is thrilled Kyle Johnston will raise their profile through his racing. Johnston will wear his new EKCT kit in 2019, subject to approval from British Cycling, and Ms McAdams said:“Kyle is going to be fantastic for us because he is going to let everyone know about EKCT and what we do. “The charity provides the facilities at K-Park and K-Woodlands for community use, so we do lots of good work. “But it’s difficult when you are concentrating on all that to promote yourself. “We are that busy helping people, we aren’t saying:‘Hey, look what we are doing’. “I think we need to get a bit better at that and with Kyle, the logo is everywhere and people will know K-Park and K-Woodlands don’t belong to the local authority, they are part of the charity and the work we do.”

And Ms McAdams also praised Johnston’s work with the trust, which sees him volunteering at their Sunday Club for local children with additional support needs. She added:“One of the reasons we brought him in is Kyle has a really kind nature and a kind heart. “We knew he had the right nature for the children. “He’s not judgmental and a really nice person. “The kids love him and we are really happy that he’s part of our team. “We’ll look forward to supporting him in what he wants to do as he goes forward.”
