Parryis buzzing atWasps

-

Neil Parry reckons Alloa have shown they are worthy of their place in the Scottish Championship.

The Wasps are the only part-timers in the division and Parry’s performances, which have seen him become statistically the best goalkeeper in the entire SPFL right now, have been key to them staying above the relegation zone.

In 14 outings he has made the most saves of any goalkeeper in the SPL, with 60 stops in 14 appearances and four clean sheets.

“With us going up to the Championship I was always going to be a busy this season,” he said.

“But we started really well and, as the only part-time team in the league, if we can stay above those bottom two places it would be a great achievement.

“I’m really pleased with my performance.

“I’ve never played at this level before but I feel like we are holding our own in the Championship and long may it continue.”

Alloa are two places off bottom spot and have earned wins over Morton and Partick.

Parry added: “We beat Morton the other week and I felt we were unlucky to lose to Dundee United last midweek so we’ve showed we are more than capable.

“There are no easy games because we are part-time and I’m there to do everything I can to help us stay up.”
