Trial for EK woman

An East Kilbride woman will stand trial after allegedly dancing on top of a smashedup ambulance vehicle following an England World Cup win.

It’s claimed Larissa Bell was the woman pictured on top of the wrecked emergency vehicle after England’s 2-0 win over Sweden in the quarter-finals.

The court heard the damage amounted to nearly £6900 and the car had to be taken out of service for 34 days. Bell, a 21-yearold waitress, appeared at Camberwell Magistrate­s Court in south London in connection with July’s incident.

Co-accused Kangyue Jian, 27, a Singaporea­n who lives in London; James Elton, 27, of London, and Scott Dennett, 25, of Thornton- Cleveleys, Lancashire were all charged with criminal damage.

Prosecutor Dami Eniola said fans celebratin­g England’s win on July 7 surrounded the car near London’s Borough Market.

Social media footage showed seven people jumping on it.

Some of the individual­s weren’t identified.

Bell and the men are accused of shattering the rapid response car’s windscreen and denting its bonnet in an incident at London Bridge station.

Bell is accused of being part of a crowd that spilled on to Borough High Street in Southwark to celebrate the victory.

She gave no plea along with Dennett while Elton and Jian pleaded not guilty.

All four were granted bail have been ordered to appear at Inner London Crown Court on January 8, 2019.
