When I start hearing it in December it makes me feel Christmassy...

With the festive season in full swing and the battle now on in the music charts for this year’s Christmas No 1, the News took to East Kilbride town centre to ask folk which tune saw them looking out the mulled wine and mince pies.

For many of us, Christmas hasn’t truly started until we hear some old festive favourites.

And it could be a bit of Wham’s Last Christmas or Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You’ which makes you ready to deck the halls in December.

Diane Bermingham from West Mains kicked things off when she said: “I would have to say Jingle Bells – when I start hearing it in December it makes me feel Christmassy.”

Liz Allan from Calderwood said: “It’s probably a bit boring but I would say Jingle Bells. I do like Christmas although my only bug bear is that the lead-up starts too early.”

East Kilbride shopper Adam Mayers said: “Fairytale of New York just makes me feel like it is Christmas.”

And Megan Nicol from St Leonards added: “To be honest I am probably not a really Christmassy type of person but I like Fairytale of New York as it’s funny.”
