The Twilight Sad are back with arguably their greatest record

- ANDREA LAMBROU

Catapulting back onto the scene with their first album since 2014’s Nobody Wants to Be Here and Nobody Wants to Leave, post-punk Scots rockers The Twilight Sad take their influence from idols The Cure on this 11-track masterpiece.

The band even had the pleasure of being touring partners with 80s legends last year.

Heavy synths, mesmerising melodies and pulsating percussion set this Rock Action Records label (Mogwai) record apart from its predecessors.

The Kilsyth band’s spectacular ascent since they formed as a bunch of young school pals is evident in their truly impressive back catalogue – with this latest release arguably their greatest to date. Fans of Frightened Rabbit, The Editors and Interpol are sure to revel in this latest offering.

Top track ‘I’m Not Here [missing face]’ was released back in July to announce their comeback.

If you would like to catch them, The Twilight Sad will be touring the UK, US and Europe later this year with ’It Won’t Be Like This All The Time’.
