A Stewartfield man was placed on a supervision order after admitting charges of domestic abuse.

Marc Keenan will be on the order for two years after he admitted charges relating to two ex-partners.

Keenan, of Swaledale, was also ordered to do 160 hours of unpaid work and was served with a non-harassment order in respect of one of the women.

The 33-year-old appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week and admitted assaulting a woman at a flat in Glasgow’s Harbour Terrace on May 18.

The court heard how he grabbed the woman by the hair, shoved her on to a bed, pinned her down and struck her repeatedly on the head with his hand. Keenan also admitted threatening or abusive behaviour towards another woman at several addresses – including Drummond Way, Newton Mearns –on various occasions between May 2011 and October 2013.

The charge stated he shouted abuse and threats, grabbed his victim’s phone and looked at it without permission.

He also punched and kicked walls, and damaged electrical and household items by throwing them about.

Sheriff Douglas Brown told Keenan he must attend a programme for domestic abuse offenders as part of his community payback order.

Sheriff Brown also imposed a nonharassment order banning him from any contact with his first victim for three years.
