Po­lice re­cruit­ment team will be on hand at open day

A drop-in ses­sion for any­one wish­ing to start a ca­reer in the po­lice is to be held at the Scot­tish Po­lice Col­lege in Jack­ton.

Or­gan­ised by Po­lice Scot­land re­cruit­ment of­fi­cers, the event is de­signed to of­fer help and guid­ance to any­one start­ing the ap­pli­ca­tion process.

Act­ing as an in­for­ma­tion day, the ses­sions of­fer a host of de­tails about life as a po­lice of­fi­cer and the ben­e­fits of the job.

These ses­sions also ex­plain the op­por­tu­ni­ties for ca­reer pro­gres­sion within the force, as well as pro­vid­ing help for spe­cific ques­tions about the ap­pli­ca­tion process.

Mem­bers of the po­lice re­cruit­ment team will be on hand to speak in per­son to any­one in­ter­ested in find­ing out more. Held on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 2 at the col­lege on Ea­gle­sham Road, the ses­sion starts at 9.45am.

Those in­ter­ested will then be helped with ad­vice on how to com­plete the ap­pli­ca­tion form, help with in­ter­view prepa­ra­tion, and tips on what to ex­pect from the as­sess­ment cen­tre stage of the process.

De­tails about the stan­dard en­trance and fit­ness tests will also be ad­dressed.

On the day, at­ten­dees must take pho­to­graphic iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, and a notebook and pen, and should avoid bring­ing bags which may be sub­ject to a search.
