Stolen motor used as ransom

A St Leonards family have been left terrified after brazen car thieves stole their £30,000 motor and held them to ransom over it.

Robert and Laura Anne Hannah had a rude awakening on Thursday night when their Ford Ranger car alarm sounded at around 11pm.

The couple, whose four children were asleep in their beds, were horrified to see the blue/grey motor rolling down the street before being towed away by a silver/grey Mitsubishi 4x4.

Robert, 37, who runs East Kilbride Autocare in College Milton, said: “They must have been watching our home as they waited for the lights to go out. It’s a sad day to have your car stolen full stop but to witness it is a whole new level of cruelty.
