Trial date is set over food fight allegations
A man spent Christmas Day in a police cell after an alleged disturbance involving his partner in East Kilbride.
Derek Thomson is said to have acted in an aggressive manner, shouting abuse and offensive remarks towards his partner. It is also alleged that he threw foodstuffs around a room and kicked the door of an oven, causing damage.
Thomson, of Cawdor Crescent, Kirkcaldy, appeared from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court, where he was charged with threatening or abusive behaviour.
The incident is said to have happened at an address in Ontario Park, Westwood, on Christmas Day.
The 35-year-old will return to court for trial on February 27.
Sheriff Thomas Millar allowed bail but imposed special conditions, banningThomson from having contact with his victim or from going to the address where the incident is said to have taken place.
