Future is bright for pupils
Pupils at Murray Primary School will be seen more clearly when out and about thanks to a donation from Specsavers.
The East Kilbride town centre opticians is helping youngsters stay safe by providing 160 high visibility vests to local school children.
The fluorescent reflective vests are designed to increase the safety of youngsters by making them more visible to others. The school’s road safety team and road safety officers welcomed Specsavers East Kilbride store administrator Mandy Pendergast to the school and spoke about the importance of being seen.
Specsavers East Kilbride store director, Shirley-Ann Kennedy, said: “No matter the time of year, it’s so important for youngsters to be visible when they’re out walking.
“As a business that looks after eyes and ears, it makes sense that we’re proactive in helping youngsters stay visible and safe when they’re out and about near roads.
“We’re so pleased that we’ve been able to donate these vests to help children stay safe.”
