Re­lay for life team are happy to help

Last year’s East Kil­bride‘Re­lay For Life’event raised over £15,000 for char­ity.

The local com­mu­nity has been sup­port­ing the an­nual event for the last 22 years and 2018 was no dif­fer­ent.

Men, women, boys, girls, mums, dads, chil­dren, grand­par­ents, col­leagues, car­ers and sur­vivors all joined to­gether to take an­other step for­ward to­wards beat­ing can­cer.

And last week a cheque for £16,071 was handed to Can­cer Re­search UK thanks to the ef­forts of ev­ery­one who took part in the event.

The 24-hour event again took place at the John Wright Sports Cen­tre in June, with teams camp­ing out by the track and tak­ing turns to walk over the day.

Now thoughts are turn­ing to reg­is­tra­tion for this year’s event, which takes place on June 14 and 15.
