Relay for life team are happy to help

-

Last year’s East Kilbride‘Relay For Life’event raised over £15,000 for charity.

The local community has been supporting the annual event for the last 22 years and 2018 was no different.

Men, women, boys, girls, mums, dads, children, grandparents, colleagues, carers and survivors all joined together to take another step forward towards beating cancer.

And last week a cheque for £16,071 was handed to Cancer Research UK thanks to the efforts of everyone who took part in the event.

The 24-hour event again took place at the John Wright Sports Centre in June, with teams camping out by the track and taking turns to walk over the day.

Now thoughts are turning to registration for this year’s event, which takes place on June 14 and 15.

To find out more about taking part, head to Facebook.com/ eastkilbriderelayforlife or head to the website to register, at cancerresearchuk.org.
