Christmas Community Lunch is a big hit

East Kilbride Sports Club members hosted their second annual Christmas Community Lunch recently.

On Thursday, December 27 the club welcomed over 60 guests from a variety of local community groups to Calderglen.

Following refreshments, there was a meal accompanied by Christmas music and fun activities.

A range of club members volunteered to cook and serve the dinner and organise the activities, which included a raffle.

Chief organiser was Darren Marriott, assisted by chef Alex Gilmour and a host of others. All the guests received a gift from Santa Claus.

East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow MP, Dr Lisa Cameron, was the guest of honour. She said:“It was a wonderful festive event, enjoyed by all.

“My personal thanks go to the organisers at EK Sports Club for all their efforts and for making the Christmas Lunch truly special for so many residents”.
