Communities face a roads overhaul

East Renfrewshire Council have confirmed that Eaglesham and Waterfoot could be set for a roads overhaul.
Crunch talks were held between the council, the Eaglesham and Waterfoot Community Council, Police Scotland and Safety Cameras Scotland last month.

They also discussed putting extra ‘Speed Info Display’ signs in place, updating puffin crossing signage, and construction of a roundabout at the access to a new residential development at Low Borland Way.
A publicity campaign to alert drivers to the 30mph speed limit and encourage compliance was also raised.
Community council chair Thomas Henderson said “nothing firm” had been agreed and “we wait to see the eventual action plan”.
