A helping hand for struggling parents

-

An East Kilbride firm is offering parents a helping hand to buy new school uniforms for their kids.

Peel Park-based Document Solutions have created a fund in order to help struggling parents as part of company-wide initiative.

The company set aside the pot of cash in order to help good causes across their Scottish and Irish operations, which is open to anyone in the community.

And managing director, Gerry Strain, is urging people in East Kilbride and beyond to get in touch.

He told the News:“We tend to do something every year to give back to the community and knowing how expensive school uniforms can be we decided this was what we wanted to do this year.

“It isn’t just employees who can benefit. It’s anyone who needs a bit of help.

“Even those who are in employment can find it challenging to find the money required for their children’s school uniforms and it can be a financial step too far for some families or parents.

“Being mindful of this and in line with our #LivingWage accreditation, Document Solutions have set aside some financial resources and tapped into some crucial contacts to put themselves into a position to help families and parents in need of some help at this costly time.

“If you or anyone you know require some assistance around arranging school uniforms for your children, please just get in touch and we’d be more than happy to help. Even if we help one family, it will still have been a worthwhile initiative.”

Last year the Irish office supported the homeless through a charity dinner.
