CANDIDATE IN NAZI AND BURKARANT

MacKay’s right-wing propoganda unveiled

- GREGOR FARQUHARSON

A candidate standing for election in East Kilbride has openly called for a ban on the Burka and says he “wants his country back”.

Dave MacKay has also likened Britain’s four main political parties to Nazis and taken repeated pops at climate change activist Greta Thunberg.

The UKIP candidate’s social media presence is littered with right-wing propoganda posts, including ‘inspirational’ quotes from Hitler’s second-incommand, Joseph Goebbels. One of his posts says: “I am British, I am white, I am proud.

“I do not accept Islam, immigration, multiculturalism, our membership to the EU.

“But I am not racist. I am a British citizen and I want my country back.”

A would-be MP standing for election in East Kilbride has openly called for a ban on the burka and says he“wants his country back”.

Dave MacKay took to Facebook on March 13 this year and shared a Knights Templar Order post depicting a woman in a burka and the slogan: “Ban the Burka.”

The post also had a link to a petition trying to enforce such a ban.

The UKIP candidate has also likened Britain’s four main political parties to Nazis and taken repeated pops at climate change activist Greta Thunberg.

Standing for election in East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow, rival parliamentary candidates spoke to the EK News this week to condemn Mr MacKay’s views.

Lib Dem candidate for the seat, Ewan McRoberts, said: “The views he currently appears to hold have no place in modern society.

“It seems his mind is consumed with hatred and I really hope he gets the help and support he needs to get to a happier place mentally.”

A ship’s chief engineer for SERCO working at Faslane, Mr

MacKay’s social media presence is littered with right-wing propoganda posts, including ‘inspirational’ quotes from Hitler’s second-incommand, Joseph Goebbels.

On March 8, he shared a post insinuating a rise in immigration was a direct link to violent crime.

A month earlier, he took to Facebook where he posted a picture he made up of 16 advertising campaigns depicting mixed-race couples.

This was accompanied by the comment: “Why is the UK being deliberately ethnically changed?

“What was wrong with being British? Why are white actors not complaining about blatant racist exclusion from work?”

Fellow candidate Lisa Cameron said that racial and religious intolerance in politics was “growing” and was now a “significant cause for concern”.

The SNP electionhopeful added: “My family escaped Dresden and I am particularly appalled by escalating antisemitism in UK politics. True leaders must act against any member who engages in racial abuse, whether it occurs in East Kilbride or anywhere else in the UK”. The first-time candidate’s posts – which include posts likening 16-year-old climate change activist Greta Thunberg to a Nazi who is being used to get a political message out – have been called anti-semitic and Islamophobic.

On a post shared on September 23, images of Nazis were accompanied with an image of Thunberg captioned: “Some globalist

tactics will never change.” The first-time candidate also shared a post that same day referring to Guy Verhofstadt (an MEP for Belgium) as “Little Hitler”, accompanied with a video of Verhofstadt speaking in parliament alongside one of Hitler.

MacKay also shared quotes from Nazi Propaganda Minister Goebbels on February 23 this year and an image on February 27 insinuating that other UK parties are pro-Nazi, and UKIP is the only party to keep them out.

He also seems to hold strong anti-Islam views, as demonstrated by posts on Facebook.

A post shared on February 24 of a photo of people protesting against British Muslim oppression was captioned “say no more,” and in another photo shared on February 28 he stated that he “does not accept Islam”.

The post continued: “I am British, I am white, I am proud.

“I do not accept Islam, immigration, multiculturalism, our membership to the EU.

“But I am not racist. I am a British citizen and I want my country back.”

Mr MacKay acknowledged the News’ request for a comment submitted last week, but failed to get back to us before going to print.
