TORIES - GAIL McGREGOR

-

The NHS under the SNP is in crisis.

After 12 years in charge, they have presided over a workforce crisis, record waiting times and the highest number of drug deaths on record.

We have hospitals not yet open, infection scandals, a GP recruitment gap – you name it and it’s gone wrong on Nicola Sturgeon’s watch.

Every week in the Scottish Parliament she is asked to answer for failings in the health service and she has no answers.

I will hold the SNP to account if elected to serve you.

And I will demand that the millions due to flow to Scotland are spent on our hospitals and GP services.

I will always be a strong voice for you personally when the system lets you down and fight for you to receive the access and care you deserve.

It is important to stress that the NHS cannot deliver on positive health outcomes alone and must not sit in a silo. We must work more collaboratively across all sectors.

Local Government and the voluntary/third sector have a massive role to play in improving health and well-being outcomes through the prevention and early intervention agenda.

Elderly and adult care services, enhancing access to mental health treatment and early drug and alcohol interventions are key to our communities thriving and every individual feeling valued and cared for.

Better working together is needed to sort out the problems with parking at Hairmyres for example.

This has gone on for too long. I would prioritise bringing public bodies together to get a solution.

I know the challenges, through my ability to bring people together and to focus on what needs done I feel I can really make a difference if elected as your MP on December 12.
