An argument a day is key to wedded bliss!

A couple who met in one of Lanarkshire’s best-known dance halls celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this week.
Ronnie and Linda Macpherson first set eyes on each other across the crowded floor of Hamilton’s Trocadero in 1958.
And, perhaps surprisingly, the pair say that airing grievances is the key, adding that “barely a day has gone by” when they’ve not had an argument.
Despite Ronnie’s claim that Linda’s four-inch heels fooled him into thinking she was taller, the pair stuck together, marrying just two years later.
South Lanarkshire Provost Ian McAllan visited the couple at their Stewartfield home to join in the diamond anniversary celebrations.
Presenting flowers and a scroll on behalf of the council, the provost spoke to the couple the secret of their marital success.
Ronnie and Linda told their visitors they were actually Hamilton born and bred, living in the town’s Hillhouse, for more than 50 years, where they brought up children Jackie and Stephen.
Now proud grandparents and great grandparents, the couple recently moved to East Kilbride following retirement from their jobs in the retail industry.
Provost McAllan said:
“Ronnie, Linda and their family were a joy to spend time with.
“They are clearly a familyfocused, hard-working couple who are making the most of their free time following their move to East Kilbride.
“I found their approach to the secret of their long marriage genuinely refreshing and entertaining, and wish them many more happy years of good-natured disagreement.”
