East Kilbride was set to get more new jobs.
That was the good news announced at a meeting between Corporation and District Council representatives.
The corporation estimated that about 1035 jobs would have been created in the new town through new developments and expansion of existing companies.
The publicity surrounding the SNP’s proposal to plant a commemorative resulted in a flood of applicants from families, clubs and organisations all anxious to plant their very own tree.
