Startof vi­tal­work on­bridge

The A726 Col­lege Mil­ton Rail Bridge is set to be re­fur­bished this week­end.

Scot­land TranServ will re­fur­bish the East Kil­bride bridge with con­crete re­pairs and wa­ter­proof­ing of the bridge deck, as well as ad­di­tional im­prove­ments to drainage, the in­stal­la­tion of new con­tain­ment kerb­ing and mod­ernised pedes­trian guardrails.

Foot­ways will also be resur­faced in­clud­ing round 300m of resur­fac­ing to the A726 car­riage­way.

The works be­gin on Sun­day, March 15, and are ex­pected to be com­pleted by the end of May.

There will be a series of lane clo­sures on the A726 be­tween West Mains Road and Ea­gle­sham Road Round­abouts.

Tem­po­rary traf­fic sig­nals will be in place on the A726 west­bound car­riage­way on ap­proach to Ea­gle­sham Road Round­about to re­duce con­ges­tion on Ea­gle­sham Road.

From the be­gin­ning of April, phased pedes­trian man­age­ment will also be in place.
