EK ice rink set to reopen
East Kilbride Ice Rink is set to reopen next week for patch ice sessions.
Some customers who receive the private lessons with professional coaches will be able to return to the ice from September 14
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture however say their staff and customer’s health and safety is their main priority and all those returning should follow the guidance.
Any patch session booked must be prearranged with the relevant coach.
The ice rink are also asking those taking part in sessions to come skate ready as no changing facilities will be available and to arrive five minutes before your lesson starts.
Participants should queue at the top of the stairs until instructed to enter the rink they will then be confirmed against the facility booking register by a member of staff. This is for track and trace purposes. If you have not pre booked and paid and are therefore not on the register you will be refused entry.
Only bring water bottles, skate guards and a mask (over 11’s) into the rink – no other personal belongings.
Toilet facilities will be available for participants only, on a strict‘one in one’out basis.
At the end of each patch session users must collect water bottle/skate guards/mask and leave the ice promptly and adhere to directional social distance signage.
A spokesperson for South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture said: “There will be a phased return to reopening the rink for other activities and we will keep customers informed of dates when these sessions become available. We thank all our customers for their patience, support and understanding while we gradually and safely reopen our facilities.”
