Beatson fundraiser aims to battle back against coronavirus

-

Beatson Cancer Charity have announced their new PAW Walk, an event aimed at dog owners who want to stay active, whilst raising money to help patients currently facing cancer.

Entry to the event costs £6 and will include a free branded pet bandana.

Owners are also being advised to be quick to book their place as the first 50 sign-ups will receive a goodie bag courtesy of pet retailer and supplier, Creature Comforts.

Charlene Low, corporate partnership fundraiser, said:“Since we had to cancel many of our events due to COVID-19, we wanted to find a fun way to fundraise whilst respecting the social distancing arrangements.

“Daily walks with my Beagle, Ditsy, has been hugely beneficial for me during lockdown and I know many of our patients feel the same especially during treatment.

“We are all thrilled with our new dog tartan items so we think the Paw Walk is the perfect event and will be very popular raising much needed funds for our charity.

“Our supporters go above and beyond for us – can’t wait to see the photos of them out and about in yellow.”

Beatson are also on the lookout to find the next official Beatson Ambassadog.

Over the years many supporters have used their pets at fundraising activities and many patients have expressed their love for their pets during their treatment struggles and how their pet can aid their health and wellbeing during their cancer journey.

For this event, supporters are asked to tag their favourite photos of their pet on the PAW Walk, dressed in official Beatson Cancer Charity apparel.
