Pair accused of armed robbery

-

Two teenage girls have been accused of carrying out an armed robbery at an East Kilbride petrol station.

It’s alleged the pair, aged 17 and 16, went into the BP premises in Old Coach Road on November 5 with their faces masked and brandishing knives.

They allegedly forced a female member of staff to hand over money, alcohol, cigarettes and energy drinks.

The 16- year-old, along with unidentified other persons, is also said to have assaulted a female in Glasgow Road, East Kilbride, near Kingsgate Retail Park, on March 23 this year.

The woman was allegedly pulled by the hair, punched and kicked repeatedly on the head and body, and pushed repeatedly against the windows of a bus.

The accuse discharged with breaching a bail curfew on that occasion.

The case at Hamilton Sheriff Court has been adjourned until February.
