AGO boss blames paper for problems

-

Former AGO chief operations officer Stephen Rafferty took to social media at the weekend to pin the blame for the company’s failure on the EK News.

In a post on the firm’s LinkedIn page, he accused the News of having a vendetta against the firm after taking a story to the BBC rather than their local paper.

In the post, he said:“If it had not been for this witch-hunt from the local press then the jobs may still have been there today.”

Explaining their trip to Monaco, Rafferty said the pair “took steps to secure external funding”so they could pay staff wages.

He added:“The funding partners were in France hence why we were overseas, and not as the paper claimed‘sunning ourselves’.

“Unfortunately, on the day we expected the funding to arrive we were devastated to be told this would no longer be possible.”

He went onto say that administrators would be appointed and if a solution is not found“then liquidation may be the final option,” adding that“all staff will be paid salary, holiday pay and notice”

The News holds no vendetta against any individual, company or organisation, reporting as factually accurate and objectively as possible in order that our readers can make their own mind up on stories.
