Pair in court after street disturbance

A man and a woman have appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court after a disturbance in East Kilbride.

Amy Lang, 20, of Forglen Street, Easterhouse, admitted kicking PCs Matthew Goldie and Kirsty Bestow in Eaglesham Road on September 25.

She also admitted spitting at PC Henry Grant and custody officer Karen McGleish at Coatbridge police station after her arrest.

Not guilty pleas to charges of shouting abuse at police officers and resisting arrest were accepted.

Dean Vosillius, 25, of Baillie Drive, Bothwell, admitted threatening or abusive behaviour towards police officers and breaching a bail curfew.

He denied resisting arrest and that charge was dropped.

Both accused were on bail for other matters at the time.

Sheriff Douglas Brown deferred sentence on Lang until October 21.

She was released on another bail order. Vosilius was fined £420.
