A warm welcome for congregation
An East Kilbride church will be all set for the chill of winter after a cash boost.
Moncreiff Parish Church has received a heating grant From Viridor Credits.
It’s been a bit chilly over the past few winters in Moncreiff, sometimes the boilers didn’t come on when they should, sometimes they broke down completely.
But thanks to a grant of just under £25,000 from Viridor, providing half the cost of a new heating system, Moncreiff will be warm and cosy for the many who use the premises when it is able to reopen its doors.
Work has been going on over the past few weeks to install the new heating, the building is being completely rewired and a fire alarm system is being installed.
This is all part of the Moncreiff Development Project to which members, friends and external funders have made financial contributions.
Session Clerk, Mr Bill McDougall said:“We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed, in particular Viridor Credits who have enabled us to install the new heating system to not only keep our buildings warm, but to help reduce Moncreiff’s carbon footprint now and in the future.”
