Loving wife is so proud hubby has helped others

-

David’s wife, Sarah, has been a vital support for him and she was one of the speakers who appeared in his live videos.

The couple have been together or 17 years and say partners of those struggling with mental health also need a helping hand.

By Sarah speaking out, partners of others who took part in the videos also shared their experiences.

Sarah told the News:

“Thankfully when David was going through the hard times I also had a really good support network.

“I had friends, family and especially David’s sister helping me and if it wasn’t for them I would have really struggled.

“While supporting David, I also needed support and it’s important to have that.

“But I’m so proud of what he has done in the last 25 days. And I’m so proud of how far he has come. He’s had messages from people saying his videos have helped them seek help.

“He is literally saving lives and he deserves recognition.”

David added:“It was tough for me to talk about some things with Sarah, but she has been so supportive through it all – there were times I didn’t want to be alive and she was there; the person trying to help me understand what was happening.”

A drugs courier caught with a consignment of cannabis swore and told police officers‘I’m going to owe fifteen grand now’.

The cannabis was found in a car being driven by Kynan Dawes in Troon Avenue, East Kilbride.

Hamilton Sheriff Court heard 1.3 kilos of the drug, with a street value of nearly £13,000, was seized.

Dawes, 28, of Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis on February 12 last year.

He didn’t attend Friday’s court hearing, but a solicitor lodged the guilty plea on his behalf.

Mairi-Clare McMillan, prosecuting, said plain clothes police officers were in a car park in Murray Square, East Kilbride, shortly after 7pm.

She told the court:“They observed the accused in the driver’s seat of a car. He was the only occupant.

“He appeared startled and shortly after he began to drive out of the street. The police officers followed and the accused’s vehicle stopped. He put his hand in the air, swore and said he had a kilo and a half of cannabis in the car.”

Dawes was searched and £130 was taken from him. Cannabis was found in three separate bags in the front passenger footwell.

He protested‘I’m not a dealer, I’m just delivering. I’m going to owe fifteen grand now’.

Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen said he would need a criminal justice social work report and an electronic tagging assessment before passing sentence.

Dawes, who has no previous convictions, must attend court when the case next calls in April.
