Operators invited to special webinar session

Businesses in South Lanarkshire are being invited to a webinar to have their say on developing tourism in the area.

The creation of a new destination organisation or industry group to represent operators and a new tourism strategy dedicated to South Lanarkshire are among the ideas being discussed.

National tourism organisation VisitScotland is supporting South Lanarkshire Council by hosting the webinar on Tuesday, February 1, from 2pm-3.30pm to facilitate these vital conversations and hear from local businesses.

Also on the programme, Scottish Tourism Alliance and VisitScotland will set out the opportunities and challenges on the road to recovery.

Business Gateway and South Lanarkshire Council will update on the support available to South Lanarkshire businesses.

Colleagues from Business Gateway Lanarkshire Elevator’s 12-week accelerator course will also share details on a brand new South Lanarkshire Tourism Leadership Programme. A facilitated breakout session will provide a forum for delegates to share thoughts and ideas on what tourism recovery in South Lanarkshire looks like.

“I hope as many tourism operators as possible will join us on February 1 to have their say and play a part in taking South Lanarkshire forward.”
