Roberta honoured as rising star in politics by prestigious magazine
The office manager for Dr Lisa Cameron MP has made the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 List.
Roberta Kirosingh, who leads up on disability inclusion with the East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow SNP MP and chair of the All Party Disability Group, was recognised by Forbes UK and Europe for her work in parliament.
Forbes 30 Under 30 showcases the brightest young entrepreneurs, leaders, and stars and illustrates the power young entrepreneurs and leaders have to transform business and society.
The accolade recognised Roberta’s disability internship programme which was developed to provide work placements at Westminster.
It also acknowledged her position as CMO of the Disability Employment Charter, a member organisation of companies that agree to recommendations to improve the working lives of disabled people.
So far Roberta has accrued 130 signatories from companies like McDonald’s and Page Group. The Disability All Party Group are also working with Roberta and Project SEARCH – a supported internship charity that aims to get 10,000 young people into employment in industry by 2030.
Commenting on her success, Roberta said: “I am delighted to have this vital work in parliament recognised that is supporting people with disabilities to achieve their full potential. Making a difference for others in parliament is at the core of what I want to achieve.”
In celebration of International Women’s Day, influential House of Commons magazine‘The House Magazine’also hailed Roberta Kirosingh as a‘one to watch’on their 100 Women of Westminster List and Dr Cameron MP was named as one of the 100 Women of Westminster 2023.
Dr Cameron added:“We are so proud of Roberta’s achievements with the Disability All Party Group and for improving opportunities for people with disabilities across the UK.
“Last year she won parliamentary staff member of the year and this year to be recognised by Forbes is phenomenal and testament to her motivation, compassion and talent”.
