Sainsbury Local for Jackton

-

Sainsbury’s is the first tenant to take up a unit in East Kilbride’s newest development, bringing 15 local jobs to the town.

The supermarket giant has recently signed an agreement with C.V.O. Limited for a new Sainsbury’s Local store in Jackton retail centre which is currently being developed on Eaglesham Road.

And the retailer hopes to serve as an anchor for a variety of other tenants and become the first grocery store to serve customers from within the village. The new store will open between 7am and 11pm.

Providing everything from fresh bread and cakes baked daily in-store to fruit and veg, meat, fish and meal solutions, the new store promises to bring more convenience and choice to residents in Jackton.

As well as a Costa Coffee machine, customers will also be able to take advantage of a new Click & Collect service in the store, enabling them to order online from Sainsbury’s Argos, Habitat and Tu Clothing brands for collection whilst shopping.

Sainsbury’s investment in Jackton will also see the retailer help support good causes in the community by redistributing surplus food locally to those who need it most via its partnership with Neighbourly.

David Pilbeam, Sainsbury’s director of acquisitions, said:“We’re passionate about delicious food and we want to make it easier for customers to access it wherever we can, so we’re delighted to confirm our plans for a new Sainsbury’s store in Jackton.

“We hope our investment in the village, creating jobs and a convenient new place for people to shop locally, will benefit the community for years to come.”
