Town duo land roles in live netball coverage
East Kilbride netball duo Lynsey Gallagher and Nicola McCleery will provide expert commentary as part of a new BBC Scotland initiative to boost the sport’s profile by broadcasting National League Netball.
Netball Scotland has announced a landmark collaboration with BBC Sport Scotland to bring live streaming of the National League’s last three rounds directly to fans, starting this weekend.
This partnership heralds a new chapter in Scottish netball, highlighting the sport’s escalating popularity and the public’s growing demand for high-level netball content.
The initiative promises to enhance the viewer experience with live commentary from former Scottish Thistle players and Commonwealth Games stars Lynsey Gallagher and Nicola McCleery, whose deep understanding of the game is expected to enrich the broadcasts with expert analysis and tactical insights.
Carol Harvey, Director of Development at Netball Scotland, is excited about the collaboration and said:“This is a game-changer for netball in Scotland.
“By partnering with BBC Sport Scotland to live stream our National League games, we are not just bringing our passionate netball community closer to the action, but we’re also inviting new audiences to witness the thrill and competitive edge of Scotland’s top-tier netball.

You can watch National League matches through the BBC Scotland website or iPlayer, ensuring easy access for everyone from die-hard fans to those new to the sport.
The live action gets underway on Sunday with three matches shown between 10am and 3pm.
Strathclyde University face Edinburgh University, while Glasgow Uni and Edinburgh Accies clash and Glasgow Saltires face Dunedin.
The next rounds of matches are played on March 24 and April 28.
