Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity and is there for anyone with an illness they are likely to die from, and those close to them.

This includes Alzheimer’s (or another form of dementia), heart, liver or kidney disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and advanced cancer.

At the forefront of providing end-of-life care for the UK, the charity is there at the point of need, wherever and whenever that might be, providing free information and support for all.

Marie Curie provides expert care in patients’homes and at one of its nine UK hospices, while providing free practical and emotional support over the phone and online for anyone affected by dying, death and bereavement.

Marie Curie believes a better end-of-life for all is possible. Behind the charity’s expert care is its leading research and 75 years of experience.

It funds more palliative care research than any other charity in the UK and employs more palliative nurses and professionals than any other UK charity.

Marie Curie pushes for a better end-of-life by campaigning and sharing its research to change policy and improving the care system.

Currently, one in four people doesn’t get the care and support they need at the end of life.

And the problem is growing, fast.

People in the UK are living longer, with multiple and more complex health challenges.

By 2048, the need for end-of-life care will have increased by up to 25 per cent. And the people who miss out most are those from disadvantaged and marginalised communities.

Last year, the charity provided direct support to more than 44,200 people across the UK, either from the hospice care at home service, at one of the charity’s nine hospices, through the information and support line or through its companion services.
