All the marathon road closures in the county

THE Edinburgh Marathon returns to East Lothian.

The marathon begins at Potterow in Edinburgh and heads through the city into Musselburg­h, then onwards through Prestonpan­s, Cockenzie and Port Seton, and Longniddry as far as the Gosford Estate, before looping back to finish at Pinkie Playing Fields.

Road closures will be in place for much of Sunday: Musselburg­h: 10pm (Saturday) to 6.30pm: Millhill Car Park. 5am-1.30pm: Edinburgh Road (A199) from its boundary with Edinburgh to its junction with New Street; Promenade; Links View; New Street between Edinburgh Road and No. 204 New Street, and between Links View and Eskside West; Eskside West; Eskside East between the River Esk footbridge to Shorthope Street; James Street; Goosegreen Crescent; and Shorthope Street. 5am-2pm: Unnamed entrance west of New Street; Harbour Road at its junction with New Street; Bush Street, Caird’s Row, Beach Lane, Links Avenue and Links Street at their junctions with the Promenade; Gracefield car park at its entrance onto New Street; Downie Place; Ladywell; Eskdale Mews; Mountjoy Terrace/mountjoy Court; Old Course Gate at its junction with Balcarres Road; Goose Green Road, Goose Green Court, Goose Green Avenue and Goose Green Place at their junctions with Goose Green Crescent. 5am-2.30pm: Balcarres Road. 5am-6.30pm: Millhill eastbound from Shorthope Street to James Street; Linkfield Road; Ravensheug­h Road; Musselburg­h High Street between Linkfield Road and Newbigging;

Beulah; unnamed entrance off Linkfield Road at its junction with Linkfield Road, 25m west of westernmos­t access to Linkfield Court; Linkfield Court; Windsor Gardens; Ashgrove at its junctions with Linkfield Road and Pinkie Road; Pinkie Road service road, Pinkie Terrace, Edenhall Road, Park Lane, Rothesay Place and Grove Street at their junctions with Pinkie Road; Hope Place; Mayville Bank; Ravensheug­h Crescent; unnamed entrance to Drum-mohr and Manager’s Brae at their junction with Ravensheug­h Road; and Macbeth Moir Road, King Street, Wanless Court, Battlefiel­d Drive/almond Park, Ravensheug­h Brae, and Moray Way and adjoining new roads in their entirety from junctions with Pinkie Road.

Wallyford: 10pm (Saturday) to 6.30pm: Wallyford Park and Ride. 5am-6.30pm: Oliphant Gardens, in its entirety from the junction with Inchview Road.

Prestonpan­s: 5am-6pm: The Pottery, Redburn Road North, New Street, Ayres Wynd, Harlaw Hill, Pypers Wynd, Robertson Avenue, Fowlers Court and Nethershot Road (Appin Drive) at their junctions with Prestonpan­s High Street; Cookies Wynd; Ormiston Place; West Seaside; East Seaside; Salt Preston Place; Sir Walter Scott Pend; and unnamed road to boat enclosure. 5am-6.30pm: Parts of the B1348 from Ravensheug­h to Prestonpan­s High Street; Prestonpan­s High Street; Prestongra­nge Road at its junction with Prestonpan­s High Street; Inchview North.

Cockenzie and Port Seton: 5am-5pm: Park Road at its junction with Gosford Road; Fishers Road, The Promenade,

Links Court; Castle Terrace and Long Craigs at their junctions with Links Road; Barga Court; Marshall Street; South Doors; School Lane; New Street; Hares Close; Gardiner’s Close; Kay Gardens; Manse Lane; an unnamed entrance west of Cope Lane; Cope Lane; and Barracks Street. 5am-6pm: B1348 from Prestonpan­s High Street to Edinburgh Road; Edinburgh Road from Cockenzie Power Station to East Lorimer Place, and eastbound only from East Lorimer Place to Gosford Road; Gosford Road eastbound; Cockenzie High Street; Elcho Place; Wemyss Place; Viewforth; Seton Place; Links Road eastbound between Seton Place and Seton Sands Holiday park entrance; Whin Park Industrial Estate at its junction with Edinburgh Road; West Lorimer Place, East Lorimer Place Lane and West Harbour Road at their junctions with North Lorimer Place, and West Harbour Road at its junction with Cockenzie High Street; and East Lorimer Place at its junction with Edinburgh Road.

Longniddry: 5am-3.30pm: Longniddry Bents Car Park 3 at its exit onto the A198; A198 from the junction with B1348 (Coast Road) to the access with Greencraig. 5am4pm: Longniddry Bents Car Parks 1 and 2 at their exits onto the A198. 5am-5pm: Dean Road between B1348 (Coast Road) and Kings Avenue; and Lyars Road north of its junction with Gosford Road. 5am-6pm on: B1348 Coast Road from entrance to Seton Sands Holiday Park to Lyars Road (A198).
