Show aims to ‘get on top of ’ men’s mental health

-

A VIRTUAL show on men’s mental health was launched last weekend, featuring British-Asian comedian Romesh Ranganathan.

The Mind Shed features four men from different backgrounds, discussing a range of issues relating to men, ranging from experiences of nakedness in male changing rooms to becoming a father.

The virtual launch show premiered last Saturday (23) on the Mind Shed YouTube channel.

Speaking about his lockdown experience, Ranganathan (left) admitted he felt “on top” of the situation on some days, but down on others. He also said he and his friends were having regular chats about their mental health.

“There has been a readiness to talk about if you’re struggling that I don’t quite think was there in the same way before this happened,” he said. “Increasingly, I’ve seen my friends go ‘How are you getting on?’ but not in a perfunctory ‘that’s what you say at the beginning of a conversation’ way – [but] in terms of an actual ‘I do really want to know how you’re getting on’ kind of way.”

The cast also includes The Lions Barbers charity founder Tom Chapman, TV presenter and journalist Anthony Crank and leading psychiatrist, Dr Peter Aitken. n Visit youtube.com/channel/ UCH2ART_7nuJA9ny95Wc_cFA for more.
